Hart District Council has started work to resurface and improve Church Road Car Park in Fleet.
The first stage of the project was carried out in March 2017 including drainage surveys and clearing. Following on from this, tests were carried out in three areas of the car park in May to find out if the ground was suitable for soakaway drainage. In July the third stage of the work was carried out which involved clearing the pipes underneath the car park.
As part of the work to improve Church Road car park, demolition of the old toilet block will be taking place from Tuesday 14 to Tuesday 21 November between 8am and 5pm.
Around 5 to 10 spaces will be cordoned off during the works. There will be limited noise during the work, but it should not be excessive or for long periods of time.
Debris netting will be used to contain any dust and debris from the demolition.
In 2018 the final stage of the project will begin which will involve the resurfacing of the whole car park. This will be carried out in stages to avoid inconvenience to local residents and business who use the car park regularly.
The Improvements to Church Road car park have been a major project for Hart's Infrastructure and Parking Teams and will bring great benefit to both residents and visitors who use it.
