Introduction

In addition to mandatory rate relief, we operate a local policy of discretionary rate relief. This provides an additional discount of up to 20% for organisations in receipt of mandatory relief and up to 100% for not-for-profit organisations that do not receive mandatory relief.  

Awards are based on meeting the eligibility criteria. This includes showing evidence that the facilities or services you provide mainly benefit people living in Hart.

You will need to provide the following in support of your application:

• your contact details
• information about the organisation and your members
• confirmation of your current income and expenditure

Successful applicants are awarded discretionary rate relief for an initial two-year period. After this time, organisations are invited to re-apply every two years.
