Different ways to pay your Council Tax and when you need to pay
You will need to be registered with us first before you can set up payment.
We will automatically set your payments over 10 months unless you tell us otherwise. If you would like to pay your Council Tax over 12 months, you will need to send a written request to the Council Tax team either by post or by email at hart.counciltax@secure.capita.co.uk
Your right to pay by monthly instalments may be lost if any instalments are not received by or on the date shown on your bill. We may then ask for the year's balance to be paid in full.
Setting up a Direct Debit payment is the safest and most convenient way to pay your Council Tax. Payments can be set up on the 1st or 15th of each month.
You also can update bank details of an existing Direct Debit.
Set up or amend a Direct Debit
You can pay your Council Tax online using a debit or credit card.
Remember, you will need your Council Tax account number to hand for any of these payment methods so we can allocate your payment correctly.

Failure to quote your account reference could lead to delays in allocating your payment and recovery notices being issued.
If you don’t pay your Council Tax by the dates shown on your bill you will receive a reminder. If you still do not pay, you risk having a court summons and additional charges being added on top of the outstanding amount.
