We want to work with owners of empty homes to bring them back into use

In the current housing crisis, empty properties are a waste to both the owner and wider community. In addition they can often become a wider cause of nuisance and distress, attracting anti-social behaviour, looking unsightly and potentially a source of danger.

We want to help owners of empty homes bring them back into use. We look at ways to help access grants or loans that may be available and also practical help and advice.

Our Council Tax records help us identify properties that are empty for more than six months. We try to contact the owners to discuss how we can help them bring the property back into use. Alternatively use the link below to make us aware of an empty property near you.

Report an empty property

You can be charged a 150% Council Tax premium if your home has been empty for two years or more.
