You will need to apply for a licence if you are a franchise operator or arrange for the provision of accommodation for other people's dogs. This is the arranger's licence.
You don't need a licence if you:
- run a business that looks after a dog where it normally lives. An example of this could be dog walkers or pet sitters
- are someone who looks after specific dogs for a friend or relative’s pets
