Ten community groups have received funding from Hart District Council to support those most in need during the coming winter months.
The Winter Cost of Living Support Scheme provides grants to local organisations to ensure spaces, resources, advice and help are available to Hart residents struggling to make ends meet.
The funded projects include community hubs and welcome spaces, food parcels and pantries, money advice and wellbeing support.
Councillor David Neighbour, Leader of Hart District Council, said: “We know that times continue to be hard in this ongoing cost of living crisis, and we want to do all we can for residents across Hart. Our community groups do a huge amount to help families and individuals and this latest funding will provide much-needed support to those worried about getting by this winter.”
The ten successful projects are:
- Yateley and District Lions - welfare and community projects
- Citizens Advice Hart – food parcels and money advice
- Darby Green Community Hub – warm space activities and young people support
- Fleet Phoenix – Open Door project, providing support, welfare and hygiene products
- Hart Community Garden (Hart Voluntary Action) - social and wellbeing space
- Junction 5, Hook - budgeting and money management support
- St Mary’s Church, Eversley - community space
- St Peter’s Church Youth Cafe – safe and warm space for young people
- The Friendship Group, Heckfield - wellbeing support
