Free family fun day at Frogmore Leisure Centre

Frogmore Leisure Centre is inviting the local community to enjoy a free family fun day on Saturday 11 January from 9am to 2pm, with activities starting from 10am.

TikTok famous, professional freestyle footballer, Jamie Knight, will be showcasing his array of footballing skills, whilst hosting free ‘football freestyle’ sessions for children.

The centre is managed by Everyone Active in partnership with Hart District Council and the event marks the launch of its recent £350,000 gym transformation, offering state-of-the-art equipment and modernised facilities to the local community.

On the day, customers will have the opportunity to explore the brand-new gym, alongside enjoying a variety of free activities, suitable for all ages, including Gymnastics and Active Antz Bouncy Castle sessions.

Additional attractions such as face painting and balloon modelling will also be available.

A number of local athletes, who are part of Everyone Active’s Sporting Champions scheme, will also be in attendance, including Decathlon and Shot Put Champion, Allan Leiper.

Hart District Councillor Richard Quarterman, Portfolio Holder for Corporate Services, said: “Providing the facilities for our communities to focus on their health and fitness is so important, and it’s great that Frogmore Leisure Centre has undergone this gym transformation. We hope many residents will take this chance to use their local leisure centre and try out some new activities.”

The gym refurbishment has seen every piece of gym equipment replaced with new models from industry leaders, Life Fitness and Hammer Strength.

A broader range of strength training options has also been introduced, including: additional free weights, power racks, cable machines, plate-loaded resistance machines and specialised equipment such as a hip thrust station.

The improvements also include new contemporary décor, modern lighting and upgraded flooring to create a more inspiring environment.

The cardio section has also been completely revamped, and now features cutting-edge machines such as SkiErg, arc trainers, air bikes, watt bikes, cross trainers, rowers and HD performance treadmills.

Alongside this, a new relaxation zone has been added, equipped with massage guns to aid in post-workout recovery.
