Local community groups working with the Armed Forces and their families can apply for new funding from Hart District Council to strengthen their support and outreach.

Organisations can bid for up to £4,000 from the Armed Forces Community Support Fund in total for projects and activities that benefit serving members, their families, veterans and cadets in Hart.

The new funding follows the Council’s recent silver award from the Ministry of Defence’s Armed Forces Covenant for its ongoing support for the Armed Forces community.

Examples of the type of schemes that can be funded include training and skills workshops, support groups, health and wellbeing initiatives and money management and budgeting courses. Applicants should regularly support those from the Armed Forces or focus on increasing Armed Forces’ participation in a project they already run.

Councillor Stuart Bailey, portfolio holder for Community, said: “We are proud of our strong military history and important connections with the reservist and regular forces communities. This new fund demonstrates our ongoing commitment by working with local organisations that support military families.”

Applications close on Friday 22 November 2024. Successful groups will receive funding in early December.
