Local families will have a place to call home following a joint project between the Council and Vivid housing association to provide much-needed affordable housing in Hart.

The new four-bed homes will be offered for let to applicants on Hart’s housing register, boosting the supply of housing within the district for larger families.

Successful applicant Claire* is thrilled to be offered a new home for her family to enjoy:

"I am so happy and grateful to finally have the space my family needs. Being offered this property is going to make such a difference to our lives. We can't wait to move in and make our family home.”

Councillor Stuart Bailey, Portfolio Holder for Communities, joined Hart housing officers to view one of the three available homes and was impressed with the space and quality of the accommodation.

He said: “A safe, secure and good-quality home is something everyone should have access to. This project is a great example of what can be achieved through Hart working with our partners to deliver homes for local people.

“The significant need for affordable housing within the district is shown through the number of households registered on Hart’s housing register and these homes are a very welcome part of the solution in helping to address that need.”

Alex Nagle, Customer Services Director at Vivid, said: “It's fantastic to see such a positive initiative to provide affordable family housing in Hart! Working together with Hart District Council, we've managed to secure three new homes.

“It was great meeting Councillor Bailey and the housing team at the first of these homes, which we'll be managing and maintaining. With a family already set to move in soon, this is a wonderful example of how our collaboration is making a real difference in the community.”
