This year’s Remembrance commemorates military and civilian service. We remember the Armed Forces, and their families, from Britain and the Commonwealth, the vital role played by the emergency services and those who have lost their lives as a result of conflict or terrorism.
There are a number of events across Hart to mark the occasion:
Armistice Day - Friday 11 November
11am: Act of Remembrance and two-minute silence at The War Memorial, Gurkha Square, Fleet.
Remembrance Sunday – 13 November
Church Crookham
10.45am: Act of Remembrance and wreath-laying at The War Memorial, Gally Hill Road, Church Crookham. Attended by Councillor Peter Wildsmith, Vice Chairman of Hart District Council.
Fleet
11.00am: Two-minute Silence at The War Memorial, Gurkha Square, Fleet.
2.30pm: Civic Service of Remembrance in The Harlington, Fleet, attended by Councillor Jane Worlock, Chairman of Hart District Council.
3.20pm: Parade from Church Road Car Park to Gurkha Square for Act of Remembrance and wreath-laying.
Odiham
10.05am: Parade from The Bury, led by RAF Odiham, to War Memorial, High Street
10.15am: Service and wreath-laying
10.30am: Chinook flypast
10.50am: Remembrance service at All Saints Church, The Bury
Yateley
2.30pm: Service at St Swithun’s Church, Firgrove Road
3pm: Parade to War Memorial in Reading Road
3.30pm: Service at War Memorial
