Remembrance Sunday, which falls on Sunday 10 November 2024, is a national opportunity to remember the service and sacrifice of all those who have defended our freedoms and protected our way of life.

We remember the Armed Forces, and their families, from Britain and the Commonwealth, the vital role played by the emergency services and those who have lost their lives as a result of conflict or terrorism.

Armistice Day on Monday 11 November 2024 commemorates the signing of the Armistice which brought an end to the First World War and remembers all those who gave their lives in service to their country since 1914.

There are a number of events across Hart to mark the occasions:

Church Crookham and Fleet

Remembrance Sunday - 10 November 2024

  • 10.45am: Act of Remembrance and wreath-laying at The War Memorial, Gally Hill Road, Church Crookham. Attended by Councillor Tony Clarke on behalf of Councillor Dermot Smith, Chairman of Hart District Council.
  • 11.00am: Two minutes’ silence at The War Memorial, Gurkha Square, Fleet. 
  • 2.30pm: Service of Remembrance at All Saints Church, Church Road, Fleet, followed by Parade. Attended by Councillor Dermot Smith, Chairman of Hart District Council.
  • 3.20pm: Parade from Church Road Car Park to Gurkha Square, Fleet for Act of Remembrance and wreath-laying. Taking the salute will be Deputy Lieutenant of Hampshire, Tim Wheale TD DL FRICS. Music by RBL Farnborough Concert Band and choir.

Followed by refreshments at The Harlington. 

Armistice Day – Monday 11 November 2024

  • 11.00am: Two minutes’ silence at The War Memorial, Gally Hill Road, Church Crookham.
  • 11.00am: Two minutes’ silence at The War Memorial, Gurkha Square, Fleet. Attended by Councillor Dermot Smith, Chairman of Hart District Council. 

Darby Green

Remembrance Sunday - 10 November 2024

  • 10am – Service of Remembrance at St Barnabas Church, Brinn’s Lane.

Hawley

Remembrance Sunday - 10 November 2024

  • 10.30am: Civic Service of Remembrance, Hawley Memorial Hall
  • 10.55am: Act of Remembrance, followed by service at Holy Trinity Church

Odiham

Remembrance Sunday - 10 November 2024

  • 10.00am: Parade leaves All Saints Church, The Bury, to War Memorial, High Street
  • 10.05am: Act of Remembrance and wreath-laying
  • 10.30am: Flypast
  • 10.50am: Service at All Saints Church

Yateley

Remembrance Sunday - 10 November 2024

  • 2.00pm: Parade forms at St Swithin’s Church, Firgrove Road.
  • 2.15pm: Remembrance service at St Swithin’s Church
  • 3.20pm: Parade to War Memorial in Reading Road
  • 3.45pm: Act of Remembrance and wreath-laying

Parking available at Village Hall and Yateley Manor School.
