Introduction

If you plan to demolish a building, you need to let us know to get council approval.

You must submit this form at least six weeks before you plan to demolish the building.

You'll be able to tell us:

  • the building owner's name and contact details
  • the demolition contractor's name and contact details
  • the address and description of the property being demolished
  • your name and email address if different from above

You'll also be able to:

  • upload a PDF or image file with a map of the site location
  • pay the fee of £225. This is VAT exempt. You'll be asked to pay when we have received your application. 

It's your responsibility to give notice to:

  • the occupier(s) of any building adjacent to the building to be demolished
  • any gas supplier to the building 
  • the electricity supplier to the building 
  • The Health and Safety Executive
