As a council, we want to make a difference the lives of residents, particularly those who are struggling. In the last year, our Community Services team provided support to thousands of Hart people, ensuring vital help was at hand when it mattered most.
The recently published Community Services Annual Report 2023/24 highlights key achievements across a range of services, including Housing, Community Safety and the Here for Hart community support network.
Kirsty Jenkins, Executive Director of Community Services, said: “The Community Services team has been working hard to continue delivering high quality services to Hart residents during a challenging 12 months for many.
“We have provided much needed support and advice, allocated grants and funding and continued to help Ukrainian refugees find safe and secure homes. Our Community Safe team has worked with hundreds of children and parents to raise awareness of knife crime, anti-social behaviour and child exploitation.
“And it’s been wonderful to see so many people sign up to volunteer at one of our country parks to help our rangers keep them welcoming green spaces to visit.”

Following reports of fake animal licences on social media, dog owners are urged to make sure that anyone who offers a home boarding service is legally allowed to look after their pets.
Home boarding offers your dog the opportunity to stay with a boarder in their own home. Your dog is treated as one of the family. Home boarders require a licence to offer home boarding or day care services from their property.
Hart's Environmental Health team advises that anyone looking to use a home boarder service should check it has the correct licence, displayed in a public-facing area.
Licences have a unique reference number and registered business are stored on our registered home boarder list on the Hart website.
Please contact the team if you cannot find a home boarder listed or you have concerns that a business is operating without a licence on 01252 774421 or email animallicensing@hart.gov.uk.
We also recommend that you should visit to the premises to ensure it is suitable for your pet.
For further information, please visit our animal welfare licensing page on the website.
