Mental health support
Services are available to help if you are struggling with your mental health
Mental health is just as important as physical health. You can access a range of local and national help and support if you're struggling with your mental health.
If you need help for a mental health crisis or emergency, you should get immediate expert advice and assessment
Call 999 or go to your nearest Accident and Emergency department if:
- someone's life is at risk – for example, they have seriously injured themselves or taken an overdose
- you do not feel you can keep yourself or someone else safe
If you need help urgently for your mental health, but it's not an emergency:
- dial 111 for mental health support 24/7
- contact your GP surgery and ask for an emergency appointment.
The NHS website has an NHS urgent mental health helpline for:
- 24-hour advice and support - for you, your child, your parent or someone you care for
- help to speak to a mental health professional
- an assessment to help decide on the best course of care
