Local land charges

A Local Land Charges Search is for people purchasing or re-mortgaging a property or land and wish to find out information that may affect it.

How do I submit a search request?

Please complete the official forms such as the LLC1 and CON29 (We do not supply copies of any of these forms. They can be obtained from any law stationer), together with a good quality plan with the boundaries of the property clearly marked.

The cost of a Standard Search (LLC1 & CON29R) submitted this way is £146.00

Alternatively, paper based searches are accepted and can be posted to us using the address below:

The cost of a Standard Search (LLC1 & CON29R) submitted this way is £181.00 and will take longer to process.

Land Registry

We are unable to help with land ownership or property boundaries as this is dealt with by the Land Registry. You can find out more about Land Registry Land Charges on gov.uk.

Personal Searchers

People can access the Local Land Charges Register in order to conduct their own property searches during normal office hours.
