Developer contributions allow us to secure infrastructure from developments in the local area
The government requires us to publish an Infrastructure Funding Statement. It summarises all financial and non-financial developer contributions involving Hart in a given financial year.
When councils grant permission to build new homes, they can charge developers a Community Infrastructure Levy. This money is used to fund community facilities, such as new schools, roads and healthcare facilities.
We consulted on a preliminary draft charging schedule and supporting evidence from 5 November 2021 to 17 December 2021. We received 30 responses from a range of organisations and individuals.
We are considering the next steps, particularly in light of the Levelling Up and Regeneration Bill. This includes a proposal for an ‘Infrastructure Levy’. This would replace the Community Infrastructure Levy.
